Upper Secondary Graduation Project
Leader

In Norway we have a tradition for graduation. It is called ‘Russetid’. Almost everyone who graduate have this celebration that lasts for four weeks ending on our Constitution Day, May 17th.

Our friend group decided to buy a bus for graduation, which we spent three years planning and working towards. We were a group of 24 people collaborating on the project. I was elected leader, meaning I was in charge for the project going smoothly and successfully.

The budget was set at 1.000.000 NOK which is £85,000. To fund the project, we paid an individual amount, did paid voluntary work, and sold toilet paper. The budget covered costs like the bus, logos, songs, sound system in the bus and interior.

Responsibilities:

  • Delegating tasks to groups (finance, music, bus exterior and interior, PR, and voluntary work).

  • Contact and communicate with partners like graphic designers, spray painters and clothing company.

  • Overseeing that everyone progressed and succeeded.

  • Create contract.

  • Weekly meetings to talk about progress and limitations.

  • Make budget and paying schemes.

  • Keep track on when we would get income and when we had expenses to pay.

Business tasks:

  • Leader

  • Buy and repair the bus

  • Insurance

  • Finance

  • Delegate

Creative tasks:

  • Decide names for our group

  • Sketch logos

  • Create mood boards for graphic designers and spray painters
